The 'Old' in Old Island |
| The Old Island in our
name does not have anything to do with how old our company is. Old Island is a
local expression on Salt Spring Island. When something is said to be Old Island,
it harkens back to a time when everyone on the Island knew everyone else. When
people did not lock their doors, and when people were more inclined to look out for one
another. When you bought or sold things on the Island in those days, you knew the
person you were dealing with. Among other things, Old Island is about pride
in craftsmanship.That is what the Old Island in The Old Island Stamp
Company is all about. We are Old Island....We simply make the best stamps we know
how, and we are proud to sell them to friends and neighbours at a price which provides
them with excellent value.
