I wrote Creating Abundance Thinking, basically,
for myself to
bring them into my life and "own them". Practicing Abundance
Thinking is a spiritual discipline.
It's something to work with every day, as practice makes
perfect. It's been my experience that working with them,
they can magically transform one's life.
I have put them on my web site in the hopes that others may
benefit from reading and applying them.

What is Abundance Thinking?
Abundance Thinking is the opposite of "Lack"
or "Poverty"
Thinking. But to actually manifest it in our lives we must consider
the concepts and belief system that makes it so, and "own them"
by bringing them into our lives.
Abundance thinking is really just an attitude, which,
when
understood and made real brings about positive, life-affirming
results.
1. Understand the Universal Laws Of Abundance and Commit
to
Applying Them to Our Life Daily.
Understand the Law that governs abundance thinking and then be
committed and dedicated each day to do what's necessary to attract
abundance and let go of negative thinking. Remember "like attracts
like" and do some serious thought monitoring! Sure all of us can feel
totally justified at times, to feel angry, feel the victim, feel unworthy,
resentful, etc. etc. Much of our predisposition to this way of thinking
can be directly traced to our childhood, tapes, old belief systems and
societal "norms". But does negative thinking actually improve
our
situation, our life, our relationships, our work ? No! Perhaps for a
moment or two, we feel justified in our anger or depression, but in
the big picture it stops things from improving and actually makes
things worse. We turn away from positive, abundance thinking
and embrace negativity with dire consequences; we feel bad, we
look sad, we literally close ourselves off from others and opportunities.
People aren't attracted to our energy, existing relationships suffer
and new ones don't form.
We are so lost in the soap opera running through our minds that we
seldom notice opportunities that come our way. Even if we did, we're
usually too tired, with too little energy to do anything about it.
Negative thinking saps energy, like a huge hole in a bucket.
Once we really understand how this works, we will have a single
mindedness and dedication, each day, to choose the positive, life
affirming, abundance mindset. This commitment and dedication
will serve us well when we meet obstacles and barriers blocking
the path.
2. Release Negative Energy and Refuse to be Negative
Do yourself a favour! Take responsibility for your thoughts.
Control negative thinking!
Negative thinking can act as a energy barrier, actually impeding
the flow of abundance. After all abundance is just energy. Not
forgiving, judging, being resentful, being stuck in the past,
self-critical thinking, being angry, depressed, playing the victim
are all signs that negative energy is present. Clearing out negative
thinking creates an opening for abundance to flow to you. Make
a conscious decision each day to maintain a positive, accepting,
loving and kind attitude in life.
Realize any desire. Any dream is possible! There is infinite
diversity and abundance! Remember, your thoughts create your
emotions and your world!
3. Replacing Old Tapes with Affirmations
Do you believe that life is a struggle? That one can only survive
and prosper by putting the "nose to the grind stone"? Do you
believe that there isn't enough to go around? If someone has
something then someone else must go without? Do you believe
that it's "unspiritual" to prosper? If so, then this is the reality
you will manifest. Believe instead that there is enough to go
around and met everyone's needs. Certainly, working towards
your goals is a good thing and will sooner or later produce
results, but we must do so with joy, love for what we're doing
and try to have some fun along the way! There is enough to go
around, it's only greed that makes us want more than our share.
Spirituality and abundance do go hand in hand. Realizing
abundance is realizing that the Universe is a giving, positive,
life affirming place where all may prosper.
To change these old boring tapes for new ones, we can practice
affirmations. Affirmations are phrases or sentences which are
clearly stated & repeated several times a day. In order
to work
they must be have the following characteristics.
- State the affirmation in the present tense, not the future
tense.
- State the affirmation in positive terms, not negative.
The subconscious picks up on negativity.
- Make it personal, own it, by stating your name.
- Put some emotion into it! Affirmations repeated with
emotion such as enthusiasm will have more effect.
- Practice repeating affirmations daily and be open to
what
the Universe has to offer.
Here are some examples of affirmations for abundance thinking:
- The universe is generous and gives me everything I need,
everyday.
- I am positive and prosperous in everything I do, everyday.
- People seek me out to do business with me because
they like my qualities.
- Prosperity is always working to find ways of expressing
itself in my life.
4. Gratitude: Be Thankful for What We Do Have
Expressing gratitude is a fundamental law to abundance
thinking.
We must be in tune with this and be continually grateful for the
many blessings in our life. Make it a habit to take stock, daily,
of the many gifts and blessings you have and give thanks to God
and the Universe. We already have what we need. Food, shelter,
clothes, friends, family, community, nature, animals, interesting
things to do, entertainment. When we focus on what we do have,
it puts us into a totally different mind set and leaves the path
open to attracting more. Unfortunately, many of us focus on the
things we don't have and take what we do have for granted.
5. Find our True Purpose and Make it Service.
Service is work done with love without any regard to the outcome.
We do it for love and because each of us needs to find our place
in the Universe, where we fit in and what we can do to make our
lives meaningful and purposeful. Knowing our purpose in life will
foster more certainty and direction. It becomes our "mission",
and
will keep us on track. Each of us has a true purpose in life. Ask
yourself what your true purpose is and how it can best serve others.
6. Do What you Love
Listen to your heart and your dreams. What gets you excited and
enthusiastic? Those are the things you should be doing, because
those are the things you'll be good at. Your energy levels will be high,
because you love what you're doing and people will be attracted to
that energy and want those skills and services. Many of us do jobs
we don't like so we can have weekends off to do the things we do
love. We often spend money and buy things, trying to feel better.
If we're doing what we love, chances are we won't need to keep
"rewarding" and distracting ourselves as much. The upshot of
this
may mean you realize you can do something you love, even if it is
for less money, because you've cut your spending down
considerably!
7. Benefit for All
The Buddhist believe that the actions we perform should be for
the benefit for all. It's the greatest good for greatest number.
We won't enjoy our success if others are suffering.
We are all One in spirit, and whatever affects one also affects
the whole. We must look at all our endeavours as Win-Win-Win
situations. Win-Win-Win or No Deal! Everyone must be a winner.
Including yourself!
8. Celebrate the Success of Others
Instead of being envious or jealous of other's success, celebrate
their success and victories. This is a way of affirming to yourself,
if it can happen to them, it can indeed, happen to you.
You'll also create goodwill that can go a long way to creating
success.
9. Look at your Mistakes as Opportunities for Learning
and Growth
Every one of us has and will continue to make mistakes.
It's human nature. When we experience negative feelings, ie
guilt, shame, low feelings of self worth etc. we can get stuck and
not learn from our mistakes. If instead, we take a long look at
what happened, the whys and hows, we can turn the "mistake"
into a learning experience. Actually benefiting from it. As the song
goes, "pick yourself up dust yourself off, and start all over
again!".
When you learn from your mistakes, every failure is a step
towards success.
10. "Be Happy"
My Spiritual Master, told me back in the early '70's to
"Be Happy".
Though it sounds like a very simple statement, it is infinitely
profound.
Notice it doesn't say "get happy" or "pursue happiness",
which
both imply that happiness is the result of something being achieved
or gained. While this may bring momentary feelings of happiness,
they are frequently followed immediately with feelings of
"going after more" reinforced by your experience of temporarily
"getting satisfaction".
It's easy to "be happy" when the world and everyone in it is
behaving as you want, but it's a discipline to just "be" happy,
regardless of external situations. Don't wait to be happy when
some goal is achieved............."Be Happy" now!
11. Pray and Meditate
Ask and you shall receive. And consider what it is that
you're asking
for, because you will receive it! Keep it simple, honest and humble.
Don't ask for material desires to be manifested, rather ask for the
grace of God to get you through your difficult time. Then be open,
receptive and have faith that God is listening.
Meditation will create for you a peaceful space. Meditation can be
a mantra, like Aum Mani Padme Hung. Mantras are referred to as
Mind Protectors. Focusing on your mantra by repetition, brings the
mind to one pointedness, and centered. Or, one could focus on the
incoming and outgoing breath. Gradually, the mind will slow down
its incessant chatter and create pockets of space, or "No mind".
When thoughts appear, don't react, just note them and let them go.
Reacting to them just creates more negativity.
12. Let the Money Flow
Money is just a green symbol of energy. We gain it through our efforts
and exchange it for things we need and want. It must be kept flowing
and in circulation. If you hoard or hold on to money then you stop the
flow. Money needs to circulate not stagnate. Flow has two polarities:
giving and receiving. To gratefully receive is to validate the expression
of the one giving. When you spend money, do it happily and be
unattached. Smile when you write those cheques for bill payments.
That's what money is for! This acceptance opens up the path for more
to come in. Be charitable and generous. Affirm wealth!
13. Develop Personal Ethics, and Values
Values and ethics such as: detachment, acceptance, faith,
trust,
honesty, being in the "here and now", peacefulness, contentment,
love, integrity, "living simply", industriousness, doing your
best,
knowing yourself, not giving up - increase your personal power.
They come from deep inside you and no one can take them away.
Your sense of self is strong and secure. Practicing these virtues
and ethics creates a wide path for peace and abundance to enter
your life.
Ignoring or corrupting these values is destructive and all
knowledge, wealth and life decays. Your personal ethics provide
the direction for right action. You must maintain ethical integrity
if you are to embrace positive, life affirming abundance thinking.
